Love Island fans slam show bosses for brutally ‘embarrassing’ couple

LOVE Island fans were left reeling for one couple after they were seriously ’embarrassed’ in front of the nation.

Viewers couldn’t help but feel sorry for the pair when the islanders were brought together for this year’s Grafties Awards.

As the ceremony kicked off, Love Island narrator Iain Stirling was heard announcing the first award.

The islanders looked on at a huge screen in the garden and cheered as he said: “Welcome to the Love Island Grafties 2024.

“It’s time for our first award; Least Favourite Couple.”

A minute later, bombshells Lola Deluca and Harry Baker were announced as the winners – and immediately told to leave the villa.

Fans were left in shock at the brutality of their dumping, with many sharing their views on social media.

Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, one said: The way Love Island dumped Lola and Harry was brutal x1000 and borderline embarrassing!”

Another added: “LOLLLL LOLA AND HARRY GOT DASHED JUST LIKE THAT??? how embarrassing.”

A third said: “Being in the villa for 48 hours just to be dumped and be a bombshell is so embarrassing.”

And a fourth exclaimed: “Lmao a win is a win! omg so embarrassing, what a way to be dumped!

Lola and Harry only entered the villa last week and decided to couple up with each other.

But at the end of the week, viewers were asked to vote for their favourite couple – and they landed in the bottom three.

The other two couples who received the least public votes were Grace Jackson and Reuben Collins, and Jessica Spencer and Ayo Odukoya.

As Iain announced the award for ‘Least Favourite Couple’, a panicked Grace asked the islanders: “Shouldn’t we be around the fire pit right now?”

Jessy Potts exclaimed: “No, surely not. Not right now. Not before it even starts.”

Iain declared Lola and Harry as the winners and they took to the podium to collect their award.

Holding the heart-shaped, gold gong in the air, Lola shouted: “The winners’ are in!”

Harry added: “Thank you to the public. At least me and Lola won an award together tonight. At the end of the day, a win is a win!”

Seconds later, however, a phone in Harry’s pocket chimed and he read out the text: “Lola and Harry, you have received the fewest votes and are therefore dumped from the island. Please leave immediately.”

The islanders gasped in shock before rushing to hug the disappointed pair. Lola and Harry then walked out of the villa hand-in-hand, clutching their award.

Speaking on the outside, Harry initially hinted that he and Lola could still try and make a go of it.

He said: “I was definitely attracted to Lola so we will have to see where it could go on the outside.

“I think it could be more than friends to be fair.”

However, Harry later pied Lola after he was asked on spin-off show Love Island: Aftersun if they will go on a date together.

Host Maya Jama admitted it was awkward after Harry hesitated and failed to say yes.
