Shock eliminations like Harriet and Ronnie’s raised the stakes and tensions were at an all time high as the islanders began to argue.
Grace and Reuben’s shock elimination shook things up again, as viewers voted them the least likely to work outside the show.
And then the day before the grand finale, Maya dropped a huge bombshell when she welcomed back the past Islanders to the villa.
The host then said: “Your future on Love Island will be decided by some very familiar faces.”
Led out by Sam, the first person dumped from the series — followed by Patsy, Munveer, Samantha, Omar, Harriett, Ronnie, Uma, Wil, Jess, Hugo, Grace and Reuben — they all gathered around the fire pit.
The ex-Islanders were given the power to decide which couple they think should be dumped from the show, choosing Joey and Jessy.

Nicole and Ciaran — 2/5
Welsh natives Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies have proven themselves to be the strongest couple in the villa.
After loads of drama with Harriet Blackmore during the first week, the couple hooked up.
They have been together since day five, showing they might even be able to make the relationship work long term.
Despite Ellie Jackson telling Nicole about her past history with Ciaran, they survived the trials and tribulations of Casa Amor.
According to Bet365, Nicole and Ciaran are the most likely couple to make it over the villa’s threshold as winners with odds of 2/5.
Mimii and Josh — 5/2
Following her heartache over Ayo in Casa Amor, Mimii moved on with bombshell Joshua Oyinsan.
However, she hasn’t exactly proved herself to be completely over her previous love.
Poor Josh has had to watch on while Mimii continued to make plays for Ayo.
They even enjoyed a steamy smooch during the famous Snog, Marry, Pie game.
Despite all of this, Mimii and Josh are still in second place according to Bet365, with odds of 5/2.
Matilda and Sean — 14/1
Sean Stone was over the moon when Matilda Draper picked him to couple up with.
Prior to this, the sweets salesman had only been in friendship couples.
He nearly blew everything with Matilda when he was later swayed by two Casa Amor bombshells.
But in the end he chose to re-couple with Matilda again.
Matilda and Sean are in third place in the bookies’ favourites at 14/1.
Jessica and Ayo — 50/1
During Casa Amor Ayo Odukoya showed an interest in Jessica Splender
His head was turned and he recoupled with Jess, despite Ayo being paired with Mimii Ngulube,
But Mimii stayed loyal to her man during Casa Amor and was left broken-hearted by Ayo.
Things don’t look good for Jessica and Ayo, as the betting giant has them as the long-shot at 50/1 — by far the lowest odds of the remaining couples.
