Who is Troy Hawke?
Milo was born Michael Patrick McCabe on June 5, 1967, in Kingston upon Thames.
Comedy runs in the family as his father Mike McCabe was a comedian of New Faces and appeared on The Comedians.
Milo has a degree in psychotherapy from the University of Liverpool and a master’s in transactional analysis, but chose comedy instead.
After meeting Tim Booth at Impulse Theatre Company, Milo became the drummer for Tim Booth and the Individuals.
In 2004 they played Glastonbury, T in the Park, V Festival and Benicassim alongside Morrissey, The Killers and The Strokes.
After this, Milo threw himself into his comedy career and created the strange character of Troy Hawke.
What is Troy Hawke known for?
As someone imagined to be from another time, Troy Hawke is known for his hilarious takes on modern issues.
He is described as the “Errol Flynn of the High Street“.
He has made several TV appearances, such as in ITV’s Benidorm and This Morning.
The character was a big success with audiences and went on a sold out tour called “1001 Moments with Troy Hawke” in 2018.
Troy’s 2024 tour “Sigmund Troy’d” will be stopping off in Edinburgh, in August, before beginning another lap around the country.
The show sees him delve into the world of psychotherapy, but with his own twisted perspective.
He has said that he is excited to perform at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, because it “crackles with an insane amount of infectious energy”.
What is the Greeter’s Guild?
The Greeter’s Guild is one of Troy’s longest running jokes.
He films himself standing at shop entrances and greets guests with complements and witty quips.
Troy has even surprised celebrities, including the Manchester City team as they arrived for training.
He often updates his YouTube channel with his Greeter’s Guild videos and has appeared in shops from Primark to WHSmiths and Tesco.
