Love Island reunion: Will the 2024 villa cast reunite this year?

LOVE Island fans have been left disappointed as ITV has decided to skip the traditional reunion episode this year.

Instead, the network has chosen to focus on a highly produced finale, leaving fans to piece together the latest updates on their favorite Islanders.

Will the Love Island cast reunite this year?

It looks like fans of Love Island will be disappointed this year, as ITV has confirmed that there will not be a reunion episode following the 2024 season.

This means that the usual post-villa catch-up, where Islanders rehash all the drama, awkward moments, and biggest highlights of the season, won’t be happening.

Typically, the reunion episode functions similarly to an Aftersun special, where all the Islanders return to discuss the season’s events.

It’s usually a time for viewers to see which couples are still together, get updates on the Islanders’ lives post-villa, and watch them confront unresolved issues.

However, ITV decided to skip this tradition in 2024, citing the dramatic final weeks of the show and a highly produced finale as reasons for the change.

Where did the Love Island cast host their reunion?

Despite the cancellation of the official reunion episode, the Love Island cast didn’t miss out on their chance to reconnect.

On August 7, 2024, the Islanders hosted a private reunion at the Radio Rooftop Bar at the ME Hotel in London.

Away from the cameras, original Islanders mingled with bombshells, and some surprising pairings were spotted as they enjoyed one last hurrah courtesy of ITV.

The pair were the first black couple to win the show.

Mimii said in an interview with OK! magazine: “We didn’t realise how much of the point that we’re making.

“I keep seeing Tweets about me and Josh [saying] this ‘is a win for all of us’ and that’s so real.

“I feel like everyone has just been uplifted and everyone feels like this could be a start of more change, especially in the TV scene, for recognition of Black history and the importance of Black culture being represented.”

She also confirmed that they are taking it slow with Mimii living in Portsmouth and Josh in Dartford.

Jessica and Ayo left the villa together and their relationship is continuing to grow stronger.

After a rocky start during Casa Amor, where Ayo’s initial connection with Mimii was tested, he ultimately chose to re-couple with Jessica.

Since then, the couple has gone from strength to strength, even finishing in fourth place in the Love Island 2024 final.

Following the show, Ayo and Jessica have been enjoying their time together, focusing on meeting each other’s friends and family, and making plans for the future.

The couple told DigitalSpy that they want to go travelling, with destinations like the Caribbean and Brazil on their list.

Jessica said: “We just want to be genuinely happy, fulfilled and loving life together.

“A lot of travel, and being content with life and each other.”

A week after their exit, they confirmed on Instagram that they were exclusive.

Both have shared loved-up posts on Instagram, with Joey captioning one of their photos “Exclusive era”.

In an interview with OK, Joey mentioned that they haven’t yet decided on living arrangements but are enjoying how their relationship is progressing outside the villa.

“They live in different cities but speak every day still.

“They are meeting up again this week and can’t wait.”

Wil and Uma are still together and their relationship is going strong.

After Wil was dumped from the villa following a public vote, Uma chose to leave the show to be with him.

He told The Sun about Uma leaving with him: “I feel like what I did and said to her was enough for her to end her journey with me, it makes me feel amazing, I couldn’t be happier with the outcome to be honest.”

Since leaving the villa, the couple has become official, with Wil asking Uma to be his girlfriend in a romantic setting.

They recently revealed during the Love Island final that they are planning to move in together.

Wil mentioned that they’ve already discussed looking for a place because he’s been spending a lot on hotels while they figure out their living arrangements.

Uma expressed her excitement about the future, saying that Wil is the perfect first boyfriend and that they haven’t spent a day apart since leaving the villa.

Harriet and Ronnie are still together, but their relationship status remains somewhat ambiguous.

Although they were dumped from the villa a few weeks into the show, they have continued their relationship outside of it.

They even shared a selfie a few days after the final, captioning it “Winning in our eyes”.

On Olivia Attwood’s podcast, Ronnie confirmed that they are still dating but are not officially boyfriend and girlfriend yet.

He said: “Since we’ve been out we’re still together, I don’t know how to say it because obviously you’re coupled up in there, so everyone thinks you’re in a couple.

“Obviously we’re not, but we are with each other.

“I’d say we’re seeing each other, not boyfriend and girlfriend but we are seeing each other, and we’ve been out on dates since the villa.

“We’re just seeing how things are going and they’re going really well so far.”

The couple has been seen together at various events since leaving the villa, and they are planning to go on their first holiday together to Ibiza.
