EMMERDALE’S Mary Goskirk has made an emotional confession after her secret was discovered.
The journalist – who is played by actress Louise Jameson in the ITV soap – was the victim of revenge porn earlier this year.
Viewers watched as Mary was seduced by conwoman Faye over a period of months.
She fell for her hard and eagerly began raising money for her women’s charity in Ecuador before agreeing to move there with her.
However when it all blew up, Mary was utterly devastated and humiliated.
Determined to get justice, she was overjoyed when Faye was caught – but it soon turned into a nightmare when Faye tried to blackmail her using intimate images.
Faye threatened to release them to Mary’s friends and family unless she withdrew her statement.
Mary refused and had Faye arrested – but then was devastated to discover she had sent the pictures to everyone including her granddaughter April.
The trial begin last week and while Mary has claimed to have been moving on, her many dates turned out to be nothing of the sort.
In tonight’s episode she confessed that she has been actually just sitting in her car and sobbing instead.
She was found by Paddy Kirk but swore him to secrecy.
“It felt so good being with Faye, like I was finally me,” she told him.
“And then she did what she did. I can’t ever put myself in that position again. I’m better off on my own with a book.”
Her heartbreaking confession has fans feeling terribly sad for her.
