Stunning 280ft ‘superyacht of the future’ boasting ‘penthouse apartment’ with walk-in wardrobe on board’ coming in 2035

A DUTCH shipyard has unveiled designs for a “futuristic” superyacht that could rival any luxury penthouse apartment.

The 280ft superyacht, called Haven, boasts glass ceilings, layered upper decks and large windows to give the illusion of a grand top-floor suite.

Designed by Felix Chapman-Sheath, of CS Yacht Design, the vessel is expected to be sailing the high seas in 2035.

With a tiered wedding cake-style structure, passengers are spread across five decks.

There are six guest cabins, which provide accommodation for up to 12 passengers.

While 25 crew are accommodated across 13 cabins.

As sustainable superyachts become increasingly popular, Haven is set to be powered by green methanol.

The net-zero yacht sports a natural theme, with wooden slats and hints of blue.

“For the interior, I was inspired by a futuristic and alternative approach, challenging the norms of yacht design, similar to that of Tecomar‘s This Is It catamaran”, said Felix Chapman-Sheath, of CS Yacht Design, who conceptualised the vessel.

The open-plan living area is kitted out with palm fronds, stylish furniture and a semi-floating staircase.

Guests may also enjoy a unique ‘Zen garden’ on the main deck, which is completed with skylight at the centre.

The space is situated directly in front of the master suite, separated only by a large sheet of glass.

The master bedroom features an off-centred bed with epic views of the sea.

There is a separate sofa area, desk, as well as a large walk-in wardrobe and dressing area.

In terms of speed, Haven will reach a maximum of 18 knots and will cruise comfortably at 12 knots.

This is roughly at the lower end of the scale for average superyacht speeds.
