During Super Sunday, the panel of pundits, which also included Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher, analysed United’s form under Erik ten Hag.

This included a graphic showing his results away from home against clubs in the top nine of the table.

Since his appointment last summer, Ten Hag has picked up just one point away to clubs currently in the top nine.

He has lost 11 of 12 matches, including Saturday’s defeat at Newcastle, with the only draw coming at Tottenham back in April.

Reacting to the stat, Keane fumed: “That doesn’t look real. Is that real? It looks ugly. That looks ugly.

“It’s just the amount of goals, we were discussing earlier, six at City, seven at Liverpool, four at Brentford. It’s not good.

“They’re obviously in a tough place. The manager is under pressure again.

“There were players playing last night for United and you thought they would have been leaving the club in the summer.

“You’re still going back to the same players who’ve been getting United nowhere fast over the last one or two years.

“What’s the sign of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

“This groups not going to change and, as I said, if they’re not going to work as hard as the opposition, then you’re in trouble.”

United fell to a 1-0 loss at St. James’ Park on Saturday, with Anthony Gordon’s goal the difference.

The result saw Newcastle move above the Red Devils into sixth in the table.

Ten Hag’s side are now five points adrift of the top four in seventh ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Chelsea.
