When was Cider created?

Cider was founded in 2020 by four friends.

Cider, which now has over 500 employees from 14 different countries, is based in LA in the US, though many of its products are made in China.

According to the company’s website, they chose to make Los Angeles their home as “the sunny, carefree atmosphere and diverse culture provide the perfect backdrop for our brand’s emphasis on good vibes and inclusivity”.

The founders have also said that they chose the name Cider because – like the drink the company it’s named after – Cider is “bubbly, sweet, and has just the right amount of sass”.

Cider has celebrated many milestones since its launch, including its debut swimwear collection in 2021 and the launch of the site’s first unisex collection in 2022.
