RIO FERDINAND has revealed that Wayne Rooney asked “who the f**k is this guy?” when Manchester United signed Nemanja Vidic.
And he was also underwhelmed by Sir Alex Ferguson’s decision to sign Patrice Evra in the same window too.

Vidic won five Premier League titles and a Champions League after forming a water-tight partnership with Ferdinand in defence.
But his former partner reckons not everyone was convinced by Vidic’s arrival over 17 years ago.
Ferdinand has hilariously revealed that ex-United striker Rooney was unimpressed with Vidic’s initial training sessions.
The centre-back looked off the pace at first, as did fellow January arrival and eventual five-time league winner Evra.
And Ferdinand admits he and Rooney questioned Fergie’s decision to sign the pair – despite them both going on to become legends.
Ferdinand told Vibe with Five: “I remember after one session, me and Wazza were walking around.
“He said, ‘who the f**k is this guy?’

“Vidic was terrible. He and Evra signed in the same window.
“Rooney was going, ‘the manager has f****d it, he’s messed up, I don’t know what’s going on with the recruitment.”
Vidic is now studying to become a coach and is back in England taking a Uefa course.
He has spent time in the capital at Chelsea, Spurs and Brentford.
But speaking to Ferdinand in April, Vidic admitted he would love to have played in the current United era – as it would have meant better pay.
Vidic joked: “The only thing I have as a regret is that I didn’t have Ed Woodward in my time. Why are you laughing?”
Ferdinand responded: “Because of money. You’re talking money and contracts.”
