APPLE is already hard at work on a brand-new iPhone release, and it’s less than a year away.
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro may be the hot topics right now, but the iPhone 16 release date is just around the corner.
Last year, we correctly predicted the iPhone 15 release date.
And we’ve tried our luck at making an official prediction for the iPhone 16 launch schedule too.
Below, The U.S. Sun examines Apple‘s traditional launch plans, and we attempt to predict when we’ll find out about the next iPhone launch event, as well as the dates for iPhone 16 reveal, pre-orders, release – and even the roll-out of the yet-to-be-announced iOS 18 update.
IPHONE 16 RELEASE DATE PREDICTION
Apple won’t reveal the iPhone 16 release date until it’s formally announced the phone.
And the company likely won’t even confirm the date of its new iPhone launch event until around two weeks before.
Thankfully Apple is a creature of habit, so it’s very easy to guess the most likely dates for the new iPhone reveal and release.
For instance, we know that a new iPhone comes out yearly, and always in September.
The reveal generally falls in the first half of the month, and typically on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
So for the iPhone 16, you’d expect to see a reveal date of Tuesday, September 10, or Wednesday, September 11.
However September 11 marks the anniversary of a major tragedy in the US, so that almost certainly rules out the Wednesday.
That means the most likely iPhone 16 reveal date is Tuesday, September 10.
Event invites will likely go out two weeks prior, on Tuesday, August 27.
Based on that schedule, we’d expect to see iPhone 16 pre-orders go live on Friday, September 13.
We’re then likely to see the new iOS 18 software roll out to existing iPhone owners on Monday, September 16.
And the official in-store iPhone 16 release date would be Friday, September 20.
So to recap, here are The U.S. Sun’s official predictions for the iPhone 16 launch schedule:
- iPhone 16 event confirmed – Tuesday, August 27, 2024
- iPhone 16 launch event – Tuesday, September 10, 2024
- iPhone 16 pre-orders – Friday, September 13, 2024
- iOS 18 release date – Monday, September 16, 2024
- iPhone 16 release date – Friday, September 20, 2024
Of course these dates may end up being wildly wrong, but that would mean Apple made a surprise change to its traditions.
So mark your calendars, but maybe only in pencil to play it safe.
