Cristiano Ronaldo next club odds: Lionel Messi rivalry renewal backed as MLS move most likely, Man Utd return 25/1

CRISTIANO RONALDO could soon renew his rivalry with Lionel Messi – if the bookmaker odds on his next club are to come to fruition.

The legendary Portuguese striker all-but confirmed his exit from Al-Nassr in a social media post to his millions of followers.

That could see him renew his rivalry with Lionel Messi

Ronaldo, 40, is out of contract with the Saudi Arabian club this summer. His deal ends midway through the Club World Cup.

He posted on Instagram: “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”

Fifa President also leaked last week that Ronaldo is in talks over a move to a club INVOLVED in the Club World Cup – something Ronaldo is ‘unhappy’ about.

Infantino said: “Ronaldo might play for one of the teams as well at the Club World Cup.

“There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup… who knows, who knows.”

That is a further hint that Ronaldo – who is chasing down 100 senior career goals, sitting on 936 at the moment – could be about to leave Saudi and look for another move.

Cristiano Ronaldo next club odds

From Betfair

  • Any MLS Team 3/1
  • Sporting Lisbon 3/1
  • Al-Hilal 4/1
  • Galatasaray 17/2
  • Napoli 14/1
  • Man United 25/1

And a renewal in the Ronaldo-Messi rivalry looks very much on, with bookmakers Betfair pricing CR7 at 3/1 to move to the MLS.

That’s joint-favourite alongside what would be an emotional return to first club Sporting in Portugal.

Al-Hilal are part of the Club World Cup and a move there is 4/1, just ahead of Galatasaray at 17/2.

A move to Serie A champions Napoli is an outside punt at 14/1.

Though not quite as outside as Manchester United, with the odds of a third spell at Old Trafford unlikely at 25/1.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “With his Al Nassr contract expiring this summer, Sporting Lisbon have emerged as the 3/1 frontrunners to sign Cristano Ronaldo.

“Ronaldo is also 3/1 to sign for any MLS team, with Al-Hilal 4/1 to secure the 40-year-old’s services amid talks with a club involved in the Club World Cup.

“Other potential destinations for Ronaldo include Galatasaray, 17/2 and Napoli, 14/1. Meanwhile, a third spell at former club Man United is less-likely at 25/1.”
