Shoppers are racing to snap up beautiful pink peonies from top supermarket for just £4.49

IT’S almost June which means only one thing – peony season has well and truly arrived.

With long, elegant stems and full blooms, peonies are perfect for home styling and tablescaping this summer.

If peony is your favourite flower, you’re in luck, as you can now snap up a gorgeous bouquet for less than £5[/caption]

Whether arranged in a vase on a table or placed by a windowsill, they add instant style to any space.

Symbolising love and beauty, they bring warmth and softness wherever they’re displayed – so it’s no wonder that peonies are the favourite pick for many.

Luckily, one popular supermarket is offering this stunning flower for a price that’s difficult to beat – and it is currently the lowest on the high street.

Aldi shoppers can now get their hands on fresh cut peonies for less than £5.

The flower of the season, sold in gorgeous pink, is now available in stores nationwide for just £4.49 per five-stem bunch.

Aldi’s peonies are available at nearly half the price of similar bunches from Waitrose, making them the most budget-friendly pick of the bunch.

Perfect for gifting, decorating or just treating yourself, Aldi’s peonies offer standout quality at 44% less than similar bunches at the rival supermarket where they go for £8.

Meanwhile, another supermarket giant – Sainsbury’s – sell a similar bouquet for £6.

Just like with most cut-price items in Aldi, the fabulous bouquet will only be available while stock lasts – and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

These fluffy, romantic blooms are famously Meghan Markle’s favourite flower, often gifted to her by Prince Harry.

The Duchess, 43, also included the pink blooms during a bouquet arranging session at her lavish baby shower in 2019.

But the blooms weren’t given to guests to take home.

Instead, mum-of-two Meghan, who was expecting her first baby with Prince Harry at the time, donated them to charity Repeat Roses.

Why do Aldi and Lidl have such fast checkouts

IF you’ve ever shopped in Aldi or Lidl then you’ll probably have experienced its ultra-fast checkout staff.

Aldi’s speedy reputation is no mistake, in fact, the supermarket claims that its tills are 40 per cent quicker than rivals.

It’s all part of Aldi’s plan to be as efficient as possible – and this, the budget shop claims, helps keep costs low for shoppers.

Efficient barcodes on packaging means staff are able to scan items as quickly as possible, with the majority of products having multiple barcodes to speed up the process.

It also uses “shelf-ready” packaging which keeps costs low when it comes to replenishing stock.

Posts on social media made by the charity, who pass flowers leftover from weddings and events onto child cancer patients and disabled people, give a sneak peak inside the plush suite where Meghan’s A-list pals stayed.

One photo – which shows a staff member collecting the colourful blooms – shows the £107 mandarin trees which were delivered to the hotel ahead of the event.

Others focus on the bouquets themselves – which include Meghan’s favourite pink peonies, white poppies, purple tulips, roses, rhododendrons and yellow lilies.

The baby shower was attended by an A-list crowd including tennis ace Serena Williams, designers Jessica Mulroney and Misha Nonoo, lawyer Amal Clooney and TV anchor Gayle King.
