A MAKEUP artist has sparked a rush to buy a Trader Joe’s lip mask that’s strikingly similar to a popular pricey product.
She raved about being able to use the budget-friendly item as a lipgloss despite having been formulated to be a moisturizing mask.
According to Healthline, harsh weather and a lack of self-care can make lips lack moisture and become chapped.
Experts recommend applying lip balm with SPF 15 routinely, drinking water, and having a humidifier at home to prevent chapped lips.

A beauty enthusiast took to Reddit’s Trader Joe’s forum to recommend a lip product that’s a dupe of LaNeige’s Lip Sleeping Mask.
Posting under the handle u/TDRock8, she gushed about having just bought Trader Joe’s Vanilla Lip Mask.
“This was my first time seeing this,” she said.
“It feels a little bit lighter than the LaNeige but nice and moisturizing and has a pretty amount of shine the way LaNeige does (I’m a makeup artist and even though it’s a moisturizer I often use it as a lipgloss).
“AND the vanilla scent isn’t too strong and fake-sweet like vanilla can be sometimes.”
Many Redditors up-voted the post and revealed they’ve also tried the bargain buy.
“It’s so good! I find it just as nourishing as the Laneige version without feeling quite as heavy. A+,” one person wrote.
“I saw this in the store the other day. I will have to go back & try this,” another said.
“It gives a pretty sheen and smells great, but definitely doesn’t hydrate as an overnight lip mask like Laneige does,” a third commented.

According to the brand, their vanilla lip mask contains shea butter, coconut oil, and vitamin E to leave lips “soft and supple.”
