A HACK enthusiast has to share an easy home heating clay pot trick.
It will keep you warm in the winter, especially if the power unexpectedly goes out.
Traci Rodriguez (@neurod_traci) shares random moments and offers useful tips online.
In a TikTok video, she showed off a user’s (@over50ourtime) easy and cheap clay pot trick to help keep your house warm in case you lose power.
The subtitle over his head read: “To my fellow Alaska people who don’t have heat. Hack!! Stay warm.”
“I just want to help some of you folks to keep from freezing to death in the wintertime,” he said.
First, he advised viewers to get a “decent candle,” and put it in a metal container that was the size of a bowl.
On either side of the metal can, he placed about three bricks.
He said three or four bricks, rocks, “or whatever you can find” gets the job done.
Next, he took a clay flower pot and placed it upside down on top of the flower on top of the bricks
He dubbed it a “regular, yard, clay flower pot.”
Lastly, he lit the candle and placed it under the clay pot.
He also said that you can stick a few more under there for additional warmth.
“It’s not gonna make your house T-shirt weather, but it’ll keep you from freezing completely to death,” he said.
Traci wrote in the video caption: “Great tip and I heard small tea lights work even better (bigger the candle does not mean more heat!”
