Who is Justice McCann?

McCann, 25, gunned down a stranger on August 10, 2019.

The Luton gunman only just missed his victim’s hurt when he pulled the trigger in the horror.

Caught on CCTV, McCann was seen running after a car before firing the gun.

Cops found there was no motive for the attack which was unravelled on season 11 of the hit show.

In episode two of the season, more was revealed about McCann’s past.

He grew up in an abusive household and began smoking cannabis and drinking alcohol at just eight years old.

Where is Justice McCann now?

Around 15 minutes after McCann’s terror, cops raced to the scene.

McCann was identified by a witness whose statement matched the CCTV footage.

McCann’s DNA was also found on a discarded black firearm nearby the scene along with the car where the driver was threatened.

He had fled the scene when police arrived but was finally captured on August 14.

At Luton Crown Court on January 14, 2020, McCann was sentenced.

How long will Justice McCann spend in prison?

Judge Mark Bishop, gave McCann 22-and-a-half-years with an extended 5 years on licence.

McCann pleaded guilty to five charges; attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon and possession with intent to supply cannabis.

The judge said: “Because of your repeated criminality and previous convictions I believe you are dangerous, which is why you have got such a lengthy sentence.”

When will Justice McCann be eligible for parole?

McCann will not be eligible for parole until 2035.

The victim of the shooting said the attack destroyed his life and left him too frightened to leave the house.

Detector Chief Inspector Aaron Kiff said: “I hope the sentence received by McCann shows others that there are consequences for anyone who uses a weapon to either harm or threaten another person.”

He added: “[I hope the victim] is now able to begin rebuilding his life knowing that his attacker is behind bars and that the other people McCann threatened feel safe again.”
