How did Brandon Lee die?

Brandon Lee, 28, died on March 31, 1993, after being fatally wounded on the set of The Crow by a prop gun.

One scene shows Brandon’s character, Eric Draven, being shot after he witnesses the rape of his fiancée.

Michael Massee’s character “Funboy” shoots Eric with a .44 Magnum Smith & Wesson revolver as he enters the room.

A mishandled prop gun was used during the scene, and due to crew negligence, a blank round was fired at Brandon with almost the same force as a live round.

The bullet struck Brandon in the abdomen, and he was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead after attempts to save him were unsuccessful.

Who was Brandon Lee?

Prior to his untimely death, Brandon Lee had a promising career ahead of him.

Born on February 1, 1965, Brandon made his first movie debut in the 1986 film Legacy of Rage.

His appearance on Legacy of Rage landed him a nomination for Best New Performer at the 1987 Hong Kong Film Awards.

Additionally, he appeared in Kung Fu: The Movie, Crime Killer, Showdown in Little Tokyo, and Rapid Fire.

Following his death, Brandon was nominated for an MTV Movie + TV Awards and won the Best Actor award for the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards.

Who was Brandon Lee’s father?

Brandon was the only son of actor Bruce Lee, who was known for films such as Fist of Fury and Enter the Dragon.

Bruce Lee died in 1973 at the age of 32 of cerebral edema—when fluid builds up around the brain.

The edema was possibly caused by a reaction to the painkillers Lee was prescribed to treat his headaches and seizures.

Despite being a movie star in Asia, Lee was only beginning his movie career in America, much like his son Brandon.

A month after his son’s tragic death, Bruce Lee received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
