THE Euros kick off today and if you are inspired by the beautiful game, there are plenty of ways to start playing.

Whatever your age, getting involved doesn’t have to be expensive . . .

FREE FOOTY: McDonald’s Fun Football sessions are back, with coaching at 1,500 locations for more than 500,000 kids aged five to 11.

It offers pan-disability and visual impairment sessions and runs until July 14. Sign up at mcdonalds.co.uk/football.

PARK LARKS: Parkplay is a nationwide scheme offering two hours of free community play every Saturday morning in a park or public space.

Games are adapted and inclusive, with all generations playing together. It has plans to reach 200 new communities. Find your nearest at park-play.com/parks.

WILDCATS: FA-qualified coaches provide Weetabix Wildcat non-competitive football sessions across the country for girls aged five to 11.

Depending on the location, they may be free or cost around £3. For venues, see englandfootball.com.

TRY OUT: Kids’ football clubs can be expensive but many offer free trial or reduced sessions. Sports4kids operates for children aged up to 14. Book trial sessions for £2 at sport4kids.biz/football.

GRAB YOUR PALS: The great thing about football is that you only need a ball and a park to play in. If you want to start, why not take the lead and set up your own kickabout with friends, colleagues or neighbours?

If you keep to a regular time each week, you will be surprised how quickly groups can start to grow, with people keen to get active.

CLUB SUPPORT: Big clubs often give back to the community with free or subsidised football sessions.

For example, Manchester United Foundation’s Street Reds offers free sessions for people aged eight to 18.
