When is Black Friday 2024?

Black Friday always takes place the day directly after Thanksgiving in the US.

This year Black Friday falls on November 29.

The annual shopping holiday was once only celebrated in the US but is now widely recognised around the world as the biggest shopping event of the year.

Is eBay taking part in Black Friday this year?

Eager shoppers may have noticed that the online retailer has already set up a Black Friday 2024 page, although you won’t find any huge savings just yet.

Many retailers extend their sales into late November or even December, depending on what stock they’ve got left.

You can keep your shopping going then – but you may not get the exact product you’re after, as some things will go out of stock, and some sales will end by Cyber Monday.

What to expect from eBay’s Black Friday sale 2024

If the past few are what we’re going by, we can expect great deals across all categories in the eBay Black Friday sale.

Popular products like the Dyson Airwrap and Shark vacuum cleaners have been slashed to their lowest-ever prices during past sales, so we can guarantee that something everyone wants will be on offer this year.

The refurbished items are also a particularly good buy, as it’s one bargain on top of another – and you’re still getting a quality product from a top brand.

According to eBay, purchasing an item through the retailer’s Refurbished programme ”gives buyers a clear, consistent, and seamless shopping experience”.

Refurbished items are graded as either ‘Certified, Excellent, Very Good, or Good.’

With all four grades, products have been professionally inspected, cleaned, and refurbished.

They’re also all covered by a minimum one-year guarantee.

What was in eBay’s sale last year?

In 2023, eBay shoppers were treated to savings of up to 40% off refurbished Dyson products, plus up to 60% off air fryers, and up to 50% off refurbished Shark and laptops.

The retailer also slashed up to 60% off Simba products, 33% off refurbished Peloton, and up to 65% off better than new DIY.

When is Cyber Monday 2024 and is eBay taking part?

Cyber Monday lands on December 2 this year.

The date usually closes up the Cyber Weekend, but it’s not uncommon for newer deals to pop up, with brands typically offering some kind of additional discount for shoppers.

Priyanka Patel, eBay UK’s Trading Manager, has shared her ultimate hacks to make it easier to find the best offers.

1. Make the most of coupons – Keep an eye out for coupons online and in your emails, which if you download the eBay app and subscribe to, you’ll receive push notifications straight to your phone throughout Cyber Week.
2. Become best friends with your ‘watch’ list – Add favourite items to your watch list and keep checking back in on them so you can easily see if and when the price drops
3. Get in early – Last year, most sales were made at 9am, so shop ahead of this time to make sure you’re front of the line for the best deals. There will be a range of offers on different categories throughout the week – so if you notice an item you are after drop in price, it’s ok to bag it at a discount pre-Black Friday.
4. Browse the Black Friday hub and set up alerts – Browse hero deals easily and explore different events to get the best deals available across categories (e.g. tech, home and garden and more!) With alerts you won’t miss any of the deals from your favourite brands, which are added daily!
5. Visit the best-selling product lists –  Browse the competition when you’re looking to purchase a big ticket item and explore the best-selling products page. Those looking to score a new vacuum deal this BF should look here.
