He lived at the mansion with his partner Lauren Silverman and their nine-year-old son Eric.

However, after a number of break-ins at the Georgian property, Cowell has now sold the abode.

The Sun has contacted Simon’s rep for comment.

“traumatic” break-in occurred in 2015 when home intruders stole £1million worth of jewellery while he slept with partner Lauren and their then-infant son.

Serial crook Darren February – later jailed for eight years – got in through a window while a security guard was on the loo and stole £1million of jewellery and passports.

Then in June Simon praised The Sun for smashing an alleged plot to burgle his home again.

It’s after police arrested a security expert suspected of being involved in targeting A-listers’ houses using a lock decoding gadget after previously being hired to make them impregnable.

The BGT supremo said of the alleged plot: “When I initially was told about this story by The Sun, I couldn’t believe it.

“It was like something out of a science fiction film. I want to thank the team at The Sun who have been working hard to expose this.”

His celebrity neighbours include David and Victoria BeckhamEd Sheeran and Robbie Williams.

Simon added: “I was in total shock. The fact that it is possible for a person to obtain the software code to sell to someone — so they could rob the house my family live in — is disgusting.

“To even consider doing this is dangerous and reckless.”
