Sunday Brunch viewers ‘switch off’ as they slam guest’s ‘rude’ remarks

SUNDAY Brunch viewers ripped into a guest’s “rude” remarks and said they had “switched off”.

Sunday Brunch returned to Channel 4 for its regular weekly time, with a variety of guests joining hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer.

Amir Khan was among the guests who had a taste of the famous duo’s cooking.

But the former boxing champion made a few complaints to the Channel 4 presenters about the food.

Amir said: “And this sauce. You can probably put  a bit of mint in this as well, can’t you?”

“You absolutely could,” Simon said, before Amir added, “I’m not lying, I think it’d be a bit better if you put mint in it.”

Some of the other guests even noticed, Mike Birbiglia quipped: “Do we criticise the food, or do we say the food is good, I don’t understand, I don’t get it, I don’t get what the show is yet.”

“If you have any ideas on what to change,” Amir continued.

Simon jokingly snapped back: “I think treat it in the way that the more you criticise my food, the harder your interview might be – just saying.”

Even though Simon and Tim laughed at Amir’s comments, viewers were not impressed.

Many took to X, formerly known as Twitter to brand Amir “rude”.

One wrote: “Sorry but Amir is rude.”

A second added: “Why is he being so rude?”

A third penned: “Already turned it off, too much noise.”

A fourth added: “Ahh Amir is just rude!”

A fifth wrote: “This is rubbish, switching it off.”

It comes after Amir and Kel Brook recently reunited after their bitter grudge match- and enjoyed one last awkward face off.

The two rivalled for almost two decades, starting from their amateur careers and ending as iconic British former world champions.

But it was Brook who secured bragging rights for life with a sixth-round stoppage at the AO Arena in Manchester.

Both have retired since and seemed in good spirits as they sat ringside to watch Chris Eubank Jr’s win over Liam Smith.

Khan, 36, said: “Me and Kell had a great fight here.

“He’s here now and it’s good to see that now the fight is over, we’ve met each other and it’s good that we can reminisce about the great evening that we had here.”

Brook, 37, said: “It’s a beautiful venue we made the fans happen. We brought a spectacle fight.”

The foes-turned-friends then faced off for a final time and awkwardly sized each other up.

Brook joked: “We’re retired fighters, what you trying to do?”

Khan appears happy in retirement but has kept the door open to returning for an exhibition of some sort.
