Samson has no idea that Craig raped his stepmother Lydia and that’s why she has been acting so strangely around him and the rest of the family in recent weeks.

Craig used the meeting with Samson to manipulate the story to suit his fabricated version of events, leading Samson to believe something has happened between the CEO and Lydia.

After peppering him with questions, Samson left and Craig was left grimly satisfied to have manipulated him and welcome him back to his work experience.

On his way home, Samson phoned Cathy Hope and updated her on his meeting with Craig.

He said: “You should see this new thing Craig is working on, it’s genius level stuff, no wonder Lydia is in love with him or whatever.

“No I’m serious, and I think he’s in love with her an’ all which is a bit weird really. I’ll be back working there soon enough.”

As he walked ahead, he had no idea Mandy was a few feet behind him walking the dog, and overhearing everything he was saying.

But after the pooch made a bit of a noise, Samson turned and saw Mandy, who immediately questioned him about what was going on.

She then grabbed him by his collar and said: “I just heard what you said, that Lydia is in love with Craig, so you tell me right now what exactly is going on.”

But some Emmerdale viewers were baffled by how much ground Mandy covered in the episode and how she appeared to be everywhere at once.

Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one wrote: “Did Mandy just teleport to the pub?”

Another added: “Bloody hell Mandy is popping up everywhere today.”

A third tweeted: “Mandy is getting around a lot tonight. She’ll be wrecked.”

Emmerdale airs on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
