The chef took a gamble by blending an extremely hot bisque, and upon opening the blender, the contents erupted onto her face.

She was immediately asked to leave the competition and was escorted out to get medically checked.

One fan took to X, formerly known as Twitter and wrote: “Bloody hell, that was dramatic. Explosion in the Masterchef kitchen. Poor woman – hope she’s OK.”

Another fan added: ” Exploding blenders. I expect lot of those this weekend. Hope she’s ok.”

A third fan added: “Cristina should have carried out a bisque assessment!!!!”

A fourth fan wrote: “Poor Cristina. That looked very painful. I got burned like that once too and it was very unpleasant. Hope she was okay. She got an awful fright. Felt for her.”

The MasterChef judges felt deeply saddened when the chef departed, as she had expressed her passion for preparing the meaningful dish tied to her culture.

Judge, Monica Galetti said: “I was really looking forward to trying her dish.”

It has not yet been disclosed if Christine will be returning to the show.

At present, Rosie, Charlie, and Tommy have progressed to the next round.
