Layton Williams quits huge reality show after Strictly success

STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Layton Williams won’t return as the narrator of dating show I Kissed A Girl, following the all-male version I Kissed A Boy earlier this year.

The Bad Education star lent his voice to show, hosted by Dannii Minogue.

But he’s stepped back after saying it would only be right to have a lesbian do the honours this time, thanks to its already all-female line-up.

He explained: “We are now wrapped on I Kissed A Girl.

“I will not be voicing that one because I’m not a lesbian, but I just want to say I’m so proud to have been part of this beautiful show.”

The new series will see ten single women try to find love and promises “more twists and turns than ever” by “serving drama and smashing stereotypes”.

It’s likely to follows the same format of the successful first season of the dating show, which saw ten single men find love by sharing a kiss before they have even uttered a word.

A TV insider said at the time: “This must be the last spin on a dating show to come to fruition and many would argue it’s been long overdue.

“ITV already had My Mum, Your Dad for middle-aged couples, and then there was I Kissed A Boy, which has been a successful same-sex dating show for men.”

Dannii said: “After showing love truly is for everyone with I Kissed A Boy, I am thrilled to have the chance to be Cupid again for girls in this second series.

“I’m so excited to see if we can find more connections, chemistry and hopefully love sealed with a kiss. Here come the girls!”

I Kissed A Girl will is expected to air later this year or early in 2024 on BBC Three.

DANNII ON HER OLD HAUNTS

DANNII MINOGUE has revealed she was spooked during her days hosting

The Big Breakfast’s Eggs On Legs roadshow – by ghosts in her hotel rooms.

The singer and presenter was part of the Channel 4 show’s summer tour in 1996.

But she was scared stiff by things going bump in the night as she went from one small hotel to another.

Dannii recalled on the Life’s A Beach podcast: “We went all around the country and stayed in all these little places. Most of them were haunted. You know, when you walk in that room and you’re like, ‘It’s cold and things are moving around’, and, ‘That wasn’t there before’. ”

No wonder she didn’t come back for the show’s reboot last year.

Survivor Sabrina

SURVIVOR is the toughest reality TV show but if anyone is ready for the challenge, it is Sabrina Pace-Humphreys.

The grandmother-of-three is an ultra-runner, who completed a 156-mile dart across the Sahara desert for the five-day sporting event.

Sabrina’s fitness journey began when she was diagnosed with postnatal depression in 2009, following the birth of her fourth child.

Sabrina, who had turned to alcohol, said: “I was overweight, I was severely depressed. I had four children and I took up running because my GP said to me, ‘Try to do something for yourself’.

“Early in my recovery a show came on the telly about a crazy race in the Sahara desert, Marathon des Sables, and the Olympian James Cracknell did it and I was thinking, ‘Why would anyone do that?’

“But I did wonder if I could do it. I trained for 18 months in the UK… and I did it, I finished the whole race. It was an amazing moment in my life.”

The social justice activist is one of the 18 contestants who were marooned on a tropical island in the Dominican Republic for BBC.

One’s long-awaited reboot, which is hosted by Joel Dommett. It launches on Saturday at 8.25pm.

She added: “I’ve been contacted about a lot of reality adventure shows, but Survivor came to me at the right time. I felt it in my gut.

“I just like to defy expectations, but if I can inspire someone, then job done.”

JILL'S FIB AT JAMIE CRUSH

IF Queen of the Jungle Jill Scott looked a little flushed when she made her debut on A League of Their Own, I can’t blame her.

She once revealed having a crush on new co-star Jamie Redknapp – but it was all just a lie.

The ex-Lioness revealed she posted gushing tweets about the Sky Sports pundit’s good looks to put people off the scent that she was gay, before coming out.

Jill’s secret has been exposed on the Sky Max panel show, where she is now a team captain opposite Jamie.

Her 2012 tweet read: “Jamie Redknapp is one beautiful man #thatisall.”

Jill said: “I was going through a confusing stage in my life and I was trying to hide it with tweets about men.

“I didn’t feel like I could be myself

“I think Jamie was the most like a woman.”
