Amazon often runs offers that are well worth signing up for, and its current Kindle Unlimited promotion is definitely one of them.

If you’re not already familiar with Kindle Unlimited, it’s a digital reading subscription service that grants users access to millions of online books.

While Amazon offers thousands upon thousands of e-books to buy on its site, Kindle Unlimited is more like an e-library.

Best of all, you don’t need to buy a Kindle to enjoy a subscription.

You can download the Kindle app and dive into the latest bestsellers, classics, and new releases from your phone or tablet.

Ready to treat yourself to a new device?

Amazon’s Prime Day event is the perfect time to pick up a new Kindle and subscription without breaking the bank, but remember, you’ll need to be a Prime member to make the most of the exclusive deals.

In previous years, Amazon has offered impressive discounts on its subscription services, including a three-month free Kindle Unlimited trial for eligible members.

Ahead of the sales event, the major retailer has launched a wave of early Prime Day deals, and we’ve already spotted a Kindle included in the mix.

Right now, you can save £22.50 when you add the Kindle Paperwhite (2024) to your Amazon basket.

For a discounted cost of £202.47, you’ll not only get a brand-new Kindle, but you’ll also bag a fabric cover in a colour of your choice and an Amazon Powerfast 9W Power Adapter.

Unfortunately, Kindle Unlimited is not included with an Amazon Prime membership as it runs as a separate subscription, similar to Amazon Music Unlimited or Audible.

Amazon Prime members can instead benefit from Prime Reading, a service that provides access to a digital library.

Prime Reading offers a smaller collection of titles that is regularly updated.

Kindle Unlimited provides users with access to over a million titles, while Prime Reading only gives you access to around one thousand.

While Prime Reading features several recent fiction and non-fiction titles, those seeking the latest releases may find a Kindle Unlimited subscription more suitable.

How to cancel Amazon Kindle Unlimited?

If you’ve found that you’re not using Kindle Unlimited as much as you originally thought you would, you can cancel your subscription.

Head to Amazon’s help page to find out more.

You simply go to the membership and subscription page in your Amazon account, click through to ‘Cancel Kindle Unlimited Membership’, and select the option to cancel.

You can also pause your monthly subscription for one month instead of cancelling.

If you’ve paused your subscription, you can resume it at any time.

However, pausing your subscription is not available if you are on a free trial or promotional offer.

Do you still have to pay for books if you have Kindle Unlimited?

Once you’ve activated your membership, you don’t need to pay for books as long as you’re reading titles that are included in your subscription.

If you come across a particular book that you want to read and it’s not included in the Kindle Unlimited selection, you will have to pay an additional fee.

Do I need to have a Kindle to use Kindle Unlimited?

You don’t need a Kindle to access Kindle Unlimited.

If you prefer to use your mobile, tablet, or desktop browser, you can download the Kindle app to your preferred device.

The app is available on Android phones, iPhonesiPads, tablets (including Fire Tablets), MacBooks, and more.

Are all books available on Kindle Unlimited?

While not all books are included with Kindle Unlimited, you still have access to millions of titles.

You can also explore a wide selection of popular audiobooks and magazines.
