EASTENDERS star Max Bowden has split with girlfriend Tori Allen-Martin after six months.
The actor – who plays Ben Mitchell in the BBC soap – met the actress when they appeared together in musical Midnight Cowboy.
The Sun revealed they had grown close and become a couple while starring in the new musical.
“But now just months after their loved-up social media displays, they have split as Max filmed a brief comeback on EastEnders.
A source said: “Max and Tori were inseparable while working together and that’s when their romance blossomed.
“But since working on separate projects the relationship fizzled out.
“They tried to make it work but with Max now about to go on a theatre tour it Murder at Midnight they decided to call time on their relationship.
“It was fun while it lasted.”
Max will soon be returning to EastEnders for a short stint after the on-screen death of his character Ben’s father-in-law Jonno.
He will be given temporary prison release for the funeral.
But with Ben’s husband Callum having recently cheated with Johnny, and with those feelings expected to grow, Ben may not be revisiting the happy family he left behind.
The soap teased: “Whilst both characters are only back for a short stint as Ben is on day release from prison in America, and Stuart has a life away from the Square with wife Raine, you’d think that all things would be smooth sailing, but this is Walford, and a lot can happen in a short amount of time.”
Max was axed from his role as Albert Square’s Ben Mitchell in 2023 following a showdown with bosses over his party lifestyle.
But he has been given another chance by the BBC soap’s new boss Ben Wadey.

- Chris, who played pub landlord Peter Barlow, married soap star Caroline in 2002. Although she is best known as an Emmerdale star, Caroline did visit her husband at work when she did a two-episode stint as doctor on the Manchester soap in 2020. A source said: “Ben had a list of characters he wanted to bring back and Ben Mitchell was one.
“It’s taken a little while to sort out but Max will be back filming on Albert Square later this year.”
